No. 42 Show The Meaning of Life & Christmas!

Andrew P

Oh, the weather outside was frightful but the fire was indeed so delightful! The Star of the East's extra special Christmas Quiz had a musical lilt to it and it was up to our players to make sure that they were all singing from the same song sheet! Thankfully, there were no fallings out between our team members (something fairly common at this time of year!) many proclaiming 'I Will Always Love You' which incidentally was the title of the Christmas #1 that topped the charts for ten weeks in 1992. One team admitted to having brushed up their general Christmas knowledge as a practice for the evening and did very well indeed! A trustworthy team, they didn't need Big brother watching them like in George Orwell's 1984, which also happened to be the year that the original Band Aid line up released 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'. Finally, we had a tie breaker for the bottle of wine where one poor team had to have a 'Blue Christmas', the other correctly answering that the song of the same name was sung by Elvis Presley. No. 42 returned to win the £50 bar tab with 39 points but it was Pity Us who had the Quizzing gods with them winning the wine and taking the £84.00 Jackpot! Come next week for our Big Fat Quiz of 2019. Booking is strongly advised...
