The Supreme Court ruled on the difference between gruel and porrage

Nick H

Unfortunately the Supreme Court in the form of the "Quizzy Rascals" was not the highest court in the Jolly Farmer this evening and their ruling was overturned. There's a time and place for a bit of autocracy. Needless to say, not when I get home!

In knowing the £170 Jackpot cash prize would be won this evening, there was excitement, expectancy and disappointment. All teams were both excited and expectant, but two teams in particular experienced disappointment. Namely "So broke it's a joke" is self-explanatory, but rather like the differences in Formula 1 lap times, "Five Guys" were only one tenth of a second out on the 'closest to' question for the cash prize!! As a consequence, not only did "Living the Dream" win the quiz and the £40 bar voucher first prize by a single point, they also won the £170 Jackpot cash prize by the narrowest of margins. Insofar as the £20 bar voucher second prize is concerned, the outcome could have been different had teams "Beagles" and "So broke it's a joke" not merged for the second half of the quiz, but "Onwards and Upwards" benefited, and as I understand it, improved what had not been a very good day up until the quiz.

Anyway, we do it all again next week, same time, same place on Tuesday 15th October.
