Which was the case this evening. "Roses" scored an excellent 39 points to hold off "Three and a half" by 2 points and our more recent regular winners "Living the dream" by a further 2 points to take the £40 bar voucher first prize.

It was good to see the local education establishment well represented again at this evening's quiz plus a team that included a an Oxbridge graduate. What is a little concerning however, is they were the teams competing for the £20 pound bar voucher second prize, for coming second last !? Needless to say "Chalfont Ladies" are included in this group as were "Neighbours," - I'm looking forward to my detention Miss Cobb - but it was "Never gonna quiz you up" who proved to be the oil mixed with the water (immiscible.- don't worry teachers, I'll explain next week!) who took the prize.

That said, "Never gonna quiz you up" appeared to know something about languages (or was it a guess) as they won the opportunity to select from the Jackpot envelopes for the £21.50 cash prize. In being reluctant to take the selection responsibility they asked the quizmaster to make the choice who applied the law of probability - needless to say the cash prize roll's over to next week's quiz on Tuesday 22nd October and increases to £45.50.
