The cryptic clues for band names proved difficult!!

Yes, there was a fair amount of head scratching going on, which wasn't surprising as the clues were actually for brand names and not band names! Credit where due however; "Quizzy Rascals" did come up with a couple of plausible answers. Fortunately the error by the quizmaster was rectified reasonably quickly, but it was good fun watching the effort and concentration of all the teams trying to work out the impossible answers. Anyway, it didn't detract from the performance of "Bending Upwards" who maintained their 3 point lead after the first half of the quiz to win the £40 bar voucher first prize from runners-up "Living the Dream", with "Toon Raider" finishing a very credible third - Howay the lads. By way of an observation and reflected in team names such as "Aiming for 2nd Last", there seems to be more competition for £20 bar voucher second prize at the Jolly Farmer! The aforementioned team however missed out this week by a single point as did "Save a tree, eat a beaver" allowing the delightful "Nincompoodles" (and not "Chalfont Ladies" who seem to be loosing their touch) to be the proud recipients of this covetous prize this week.

As always, all teams played for the opportunity to select from the remaining Jackpot envelopes for the £45.50 cash prize. "Now we're three" won through and in selecting envelope number 5 they were congratulated on being winners, but of a bag of nuts only on this occasion! The Jackpot cash prize therefore increases to £63 and rolls over to next weeks quiz when we do it all again on Tuesday 29th October.
