"My drinking team has a quiz Problem" - er yes!
Nick H
By way of an example, their answer to the question 'Which Californian tree has a seven-letter name containing all five vowels' was 'the AEIOU tree'!?!? Need I say more. They did, however, participate in absolutely the right spirit and made maximum use of their Degree in Geography!
Both the £40 and £20 bar voucher prizes for winning and coming second last were keenly fought over this evening, each requiring a tiebreaker to determine their destiny. "Quizzy Rascals" and "Save a tree, eat a Beaver" (please see note below) both had 31 points with the former prevailing for the £40 prize. Three teams in the form of "The Old Buddies", "My drinking team has a quiz Problem" and "ALMON" battled for the £20 prize with the latter prevailing, much to their surprise.
The finale to the evening was the Jackpot cash prize of £67. "The Highlanders won the opportunity to select from the eight remaining Jackpot envelopes but regretfully selected number 7. The Jackpot cash prize, therefore, increases to £90 and rolls over to next week's quiz on Tuesday 27th August when we do it all again.
SPECIAL NOTE for "Save a tree, eat a Beaver": first and foremost, thank you for your discretion regarding the tiebreaker question - having checked the question 'How many episodes of the TV show Arrested Development were aired?', the key word was/is "aired" as the additional episodes were "streamed".
