It was Christmas jumper time at the Hollybush in Loughton this evening, everyone getting together and getting ready to enjoy some relaxation with their loved ones, before the main event kicks off in three days! The extra special Christmas quiz went down a storm with our players. You could say it was a 'cracker', like the Nutcracker ballet, which our teams correctly guessed was first premiered in St Petersburg, Russia in 1892. There were some very wise men and women in the crowd tonight, one in particular knowing that the Magi were in fact the three wise men from the Bible, earning themselves a refreshing drink in the process. Finally, nobody could accuse the last quiz before Christmas of being a Turkey, our teams knowing that a female Turkey is called a hen! 'Van Morrison's Dustbin' returned after a bit of a break to win the £50 bar tab with 38 points and 'I touch my Elf, thinking of you' (AKA, Just the 4 of Us) won the wine with 27 points! New found regular the Lone Ranger also had a great Christmas, winning £153.00 in the Jackpot question and was roundly applauded by the entire pub!
