It was with some sadness that our teams met today, this Quiz marking the end of the decade for quizzing at the Hollybush in Loughton...It’s okay, though, because next years quiz is only a week away! If our teams were Francophiles, they’d have done well this week. You could’ve have said that our high scoring teams had a ‘good journey’ which, of course, is the English for Bon Voyage! If a team didn’t get that question, however, they could’ve fought back as part of the resistance knowing that the leader of the ‘Free French’ during WW2 was long serving President Charles de Gaulle. Finally, if the impending new year made them feel like a sing song, they’d have easily unscrambled ‘TAPED HIFI’ to make La Vie en Rose singer ‘Edith Piaf’! If you’ll excuse my French, Arsenal 1- Chelsea 2 had a bloomin’ good game, beating Trivia Newton John in the tiebreaker and winning the £50 bar tab! Team Alpha weren’t complaining, going continental with the bottle of wine, scoring 19 points but the jackpot wasn’t won, meaning there’s a cool £103.00 up for grabs... next year that is!
