And as a consequence they ("Against all Odds") were Bridesmaids again despite scoring an impressive 25 points in the second half of the quiz. They were however pretty good at working out how long it would take an average Snail to complete a marathon (!?!?), but then selected envelope number 4 for the £150 Jackpot cash prize to win el zippo - they need, or maybe want, you take them in hand! This all meant that "Stepping back as senior members of the Royal Family" took the £40 bar voucher first prize with a very impressive 43 points - perhaps we'll see Megan and Harry at the Highwaymen for next Wednesday's quiz.

As per normal the £20 bar voucher second prize was fiercely contested and dare I say not without some drama this evening. One of our teams, "Grandad's Day Out", which could be a euphemism for me entertaining one of my nieces to dinner(!!!), only semi-participated in the second half of the quiz as they appeared to be rather pre-occupied! They were not therefore included in the final rankings and quite naturally Poppy ("Just the three of us") thought they should therefore be placed last thus effecting the destiny of the prize. As it transpires, following an EY audit of the answer sheets, it was established that "Grandad's day Out" actually scored 20 and therefore their inclusion or exclusion did not have effect the destiny of the prize to first-timers "Blur".

Anyway, we had a pleasant and convivial evening and we do it all again next Wednesday 16th January; same time, same place.
