The election didn't get a mention, but Laura's Leggings did!

Well they were quite something - Stella McCartney eat your heart out! - and were the inspiration for their team "Laura's Leggings" who were joint third this evening with 32 points alongside last week's winners "Against all Odds" - where's Gary when you need him! Another previous winner from July, "Lamb Chops" (aka the sexy sisters) were a point better and therefore second, but a stellar performance by "All I want for Christmas is Nick" (good team name) with 39 points took the evening's £40 bar voucher first prize - thank you for your festive card and the sentiments contained therein.
Following on from the 'dating' theme of last week's blog, rather worryingly "2nd date went well, so we're back" reappeared this week called "We need Help" and "3rd Date" returned as "5th date's a Charm"! Although my counselling services are available if necessary to the former, hopefully they won't be necessary for the latter as they seemed to be progressing well, certainly as far as the quiz is concerned as they picked up the evening's £20 bar voucher second prize!
Although the £150 Jackpot was won last week, the Highwayman very generously endeavoured to provide another Christmas present by maintaining the £150 cash prize and putting it in one of the four remaining Jackpot envelopes, as opposed to starting with the normal new sequence of ten. Although first-timers "Comfortably Dumb" won the opportunity to select from the four envelopes, they regretfully selected the wrong one! Anyway thinking positively , this being the last quiz of the year at the Highwayman, the opportunity to select from three envelopes at the first quiz of 2020 on Wednesday 8th January means there's a good chance somebody will get a nice start to 2020.
