First and Foremost, an apology to all teams this evening for the faulty sound system, - limited volume - it should all be resolved next week; hopefully. Other than knackering your aged quizmaster and limiting his desire to share his strange sense of humour, the technical problem didn't appear to excessively detract from the evening. The usual protagonist's, "Against all Odds" and "No Doubt, No Team Name", fought over the £40 bar voucher first prize with the former prevailing for the send week in succession. There was however a power struggle within the "Against all Odds" team with Gary taking over the Chairman's (sorry, Chairperson's) role from Rose part way through the quiz. Enough said other than to say he didn't hold the position for very long! Mention should also go to the steadily improving "Secret Seven" who were third despite having to share the balcony with "Potentially Maybe". The £20 bar voucher prize for being second last was as always keenly fought over by several teams. "The Frenchie's" came close as did "The Beebs", however it was our loyal duo in the form of "138 not Out" who deservedly took the prize; 138 for your information being their combined age.

First-timers , "The Flamboyant Fillies" - 'I'm sure they are' as I can just visualise Sean Connery saying as James Bond - won through to select from the Jackpot envelopes for the £150 cash prize. In selecting envelope number 5 however, the jackpot rolls over to next weeks quiz on Wednesday 5th February when we do it all again - hopefully with a fully working sound system!
