"Against all Odds" are not bridesmaid ths week!
Nick H
On the contrary, they overcame their nearest rivals by a clear 3 points to collect the £40 bar voucher first prize and all done without the guidance and management of the boss lady. Yes, Rose chose to stay at home to watch the Liverpool v Arsenal game which in hindsight and the result may have been a mistake, especially for Gary! We're not sure where he is sleeping tonight; probably the garden shed!
Had the malfunction of the real-time high definition laser display scoring unit at the Highwayman (the quizmaster) not been spotted, the £20 bar voucher second prize would have gone to "The Dynamic Duo" for the third week running, but it was and the prize correctly went to the aptly named (for the time of year) first-timers, "Hollowqueens".
Although the £150 Jackpot cash prize was won last week, we again played for £150 this week, but reverted back to ten Jackpot envelopes. The well oiled "Oh no, we forgot", who will probably be called "Bangkok" next week (an in-joke based on one of their team members answer to the capital of Bangladesh), selected an envelope, which one I have no idea; suffice to say we'll be playing for £150 at next weeks quiz on Wednesday 6th November.
As always, help the Highwayman to ensure everyone is seated comfortably by booking your table in advance on 01442 285480.
