Trio Triumph Against Tabascans In Titanic Tiebreaker
Graeme W
There was more Wednesday evening excitement at The Hare and Billet, as teams were faced with another tiebreak situation with teams vying for first and second-last place. After 40 questions, we had Tabasco Fiasco and The Chris Palmer Trio tied at the top on 36 (with nearest challengers Agatha Quizties on 34), and an unprecedented four teams (FOUR!) tied for second last on 27: Quizzee Rascals, In It To Win It (The Wine, That Is), Sofa So Average, and Not Great Not Terrible. So all six teams were posed the same numerical question: how many test runs Alastair Cook scored in his test cricket career... a tough one. In the end, cricket fans Not Great Not Terrible were closest from the four teams near the foot of the table, only 378 runs away, taking home the voucher for the bottle of wine. Of the two at the top of the table, The Chris Palmer Trio finally triumphed again, which is no mean feat against the mighty Tabasco Fiasco, being only 422 runs away, and so they took home a hard-won and richly deserved £50 bar tab first prize.
