There was a stunning and convincing victory for a pair of quizzers making their first appearance at The Hare & Billet tonight. Seemingly coming from nowhere, trivia twosome We Built This City.Net (capitalising on the quiz for some free marketing for their new start up business, it would seem) managed to roar to victory despite their love of Starship, taking the £50 bar tab first prize with an excellent 34 points, also making them the only team to score in the 30s this evening. Their nearest challengers were We Know Nothing and Chris Palmer Trout Quintet who tied for second on 29, and Motion Commotion and Our Table Isn’t Wonky Now! were both a point further back on 28.

Additionally, there was yet another tiebreak situation near the foot of tonight’s table (the tiebreaker is seemingly becoming a weekly ritual at the H&B), with three teams tied for second last on 23: Free Drinks For Everyone, 1st Time Quizzers, and Leeds, Leeds, Leeds. It then took a second numerical tiebreaker to whittle it down to one “winner”, and that team was 1st Time Quizzers who took home a voucher for a bottle of wine.
