A full house at The Eagle last night saw fourteen teams playing for a cash prize of £146 with a couple of bonus drinks for individual team members as well.
Always a lively quiz this one, The Eagle being a traditional London pub with a large number of regulars besides the quiz teams.
About half-way through the first round, quizmaster Richard Linton was asked by a young Canadian lady if she was too late to join the quiz. Although there wasn't time to re-read all the questions, she was offered a picture sheet and answer sheet so that although not able to win a prize, she could at least see how good her quizzing skills were. Having been joined by another Canadian who is currently studying in outer London she completed the quiz and both ladies told Richard how much they had enjoyed the experience. He gave them all the details, start time etc and they promised to return with some friends to paly the quiz but this time the aim would be to win!
