What a great night at The Eagle last night. 17 teams with a total of 87 people quizzing and all hoping to win the pot which last night was a respectable £175. Now I know that £175 is not exactly divisible by two and this is because one team refused the £1 change which quizmaster Richard Linton offered!
There were also several corporate quiz teams with one company providing no less than three teams, all with five or six players.
When the marking had finished two teams were found to have the same final score 35 points. Richard decided to let the two winning teams decide what to do and without hesitation both teams wanted a tie-break question.
The weight of the world's largest pumpkin was estimated by both teams and the nearer guess was from "The Spread Eagles" perhaps proving that choosing a good team name is important.
