"Jill of all trades" is definitely not a phrase but it should be

Charles C

Oh so much learning in the quiz last night. Specifically: the Queen trained as a mechanic during the war; National Treasure 2 is Nicolas Cage's highest-grossing film (so far); and, the central square of a Scrabble board is light red. Our teams handled all of the above - and a roller coaster of a picture sheet - very well, with "Fake Quiz! Sad!" emerging victorious at the end, demonstrating solid geography knowledge. Taking silver, "Half A Parr" nailed the tube station questions, while just one point behind them was "Hucklebum, Tooting", whose TV/film character knowledge was exemplary. "Charles's Angels" (100% accuracy when it comes to Ed Sheeran lyrics) and "Team Schteam" (who got a prize for the highest score in the first half) were next, just ahead of "The Irregular Regulars", who were beating themselves up at the end for second-guessing questions, replacing right answers with wrong ones! Grrr! Happens to the best of us though. The bottle of wine went to "Rutley Raiders", whose dingbat deciphering put them one point ahead of "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie", who (thankfully) got the question on Neighbours (the TV show) the fastest, winning the consolation box of Smarties. "Team Schteam" won through to the jackpot round but the cash remains un-won. Over £200 next week!!! I CAN'T promise there won't be more questions like "what's the female equivalent of a jack-of-all-trades?" but I CAN promise - whatever the quiz holds - it will be fun. #onlytheduchyarmshastheanswer
