No January Blues for NYE!

A phrase I very much like to live my life by is: 'Izzy Quizzy, Let's Get Busy', and tonight at Beer Hawk, get busy we most certainly did. It was the battle of the titans, with returning teams quizzing left, right and centre - four of which being previous winners - and they were hungry to get their hands on another £50 bar tab. First up we have everyone's favourite transatlantic couple, Christine and Jeremy. And this week THE MORGANS brought along nurse and cheesemaker extraordinaire, THE BRANDMANS. Despite being fresh from their first win a couple of weeks ago, this week proved tough for THE MORGANS and even Jeremy's Robbie William's knowledge couldn't quite tip them into a prize winning position. It was TEAM 3/5 who did managed to nab that second-to-last place bottle of wine AND some spicy crackers (by default). Well done Adam, David and Mara! More booze for you! Next up, we have the hilarious Dave and Kendra, of SPITBALLIN 4 FINN HARPS FC, who unfortunately just missed out on the booze again. BOO. I adore you both very much - and maybe next week 'German Cat' will be the answer to more questions. Then, in joint third we have the fabulous Andy and Trev and co of THE BEER HAWES (who even watched Dawson's Creek anyway?), and brand new team, BETTER TO COME LAST THAN NOT AT ALL, who both ended the night on an impressive 41 points. Well done to Miriam and the rest of the newbie team - absolutely amazing quizzing and an amazing team name. Please do come along again because I reckon you're a force to be reckoned with. And finally, it was very tight at the top. Our regular champions TEAM INEBRIATED had to deal with the wrath that is team NYE. And after the first round, Kristian, Dave, Matt and Mark were one point ahead and looking like they were going to secure their eighth win at Beer Hawk. However, after a very strong second round team NYE just managed to nab the top spot and win that all important £50 bar tab. WOAH! That makes it a third win for team NYE who are proving themselves to be outstandingly consistent winners. Bad luck to TEAM INEBRIATED, who I'm sure will come back next week with vengeance. But congratulations to the amazing Mandy, Anesu, Camille, Tate, Arthur and Vezi - you are wonderful!
