It was a superb evening of quizzing this evening at Beer Hawk. What an honour to be graced with so many fabulous new teams. Team PRIVATE APPOINTMENT were absolutely lovely and proved themselves to be very worthy quizzers (particularly Will and his excellent knowledge of Liam Neeson films). Despite the lack of questions about 90's trance music, Pete, Phil and Matt of PISTON LADZ still managed to secure that all-important second-to-last place booze. Well done ladz! Great to see you excel in your specialist subjects of 'motorways and ships'. And in spite of Matt's ingenious way of working out the halftime anagram, I very much enjoyed how it took you all until question 38 to get it - persistence really does pay off (who knew Idris Elba wasn't famous in America). In joint second place were two outrageously good teams. New team EASY TO BEAT THE CHASERS were a right laugh and excellent competitors. Well done Jade, James, Emily and Emma - can't wait to meet The Beast next week. Regular team FRANK just missed out on the top spot again. Rob and James have been consistently strong and consistently in second place. My heart hurts for you. I've got total faith you're gonna get your hands on that £50 bar tab real soon - I can feel it in my bones. But STORMING to victory was new team SIGNAL FAILURE who ended the night on a MASSIVE 49 points. I think they may be our highest ever scoring team at Beer Hawk. Hugh, Harriet and the gang - amazing work. I can't wait to see you again, enjoy your extremely well-deserved £50 bar tab.

The bar staff were wonderful as always. And special thanks to Talia for 'judging the rudest answer to question 36' competition. Which, I must say, this week's round was my favourite ever, with every single team presenting some hilarious and appalling answers in a bid to win some spicy crackers. Team FRANK just pipped it though. Well done lads, your answer was shocking and distasteful, and for that, I salute you. I hope you enjoyed your well deserved spicy crackers.
Oh, and a massive shout out to our wonderful spectators, Zach and Connor. Best cheerleaders ever.
