Eight Teams, One Dream: To Win a £50 Bar Tab

As the great Spice Girls once said "I really really really wanna quiz-a quiz-a ah", and tonight at Beer Hawk, we certainly did quiz-a quiz-a ah. Eight teams battled it out to win the coveted £50 bar tab. And what a battle it was! It was all too much for ARE WE LAST? who bowed out just before the final bell, meaning the all important second-to-last place bottle of wine just skipped Mark and his fabulous team ONE TEAM, ONE DREAM, and went to previous winners THE BEER HAWES. Well done Andy and Trev! Fabulous quizzing! The wonderful James and Adam made up half of regular team, 'Team One', to create a force to be reckoned with: TEAM HALF - and finished in a very respectable 5th place after a tricky AF music round (Is this the first time you HAVEN’T won booze from Beer Hawk, Adam? Had to happen sooner or later). Lovely new team, THE MORGANS, came in forth place: Christine took the baton for the USA and provided some impressive answers about her home country . . . Jeremy slightly dropped the UK baton, and couldn't quite pull Ronnie Corbett out of the bag for us Brits (never mind, Jeremy. Now go home and school Christine on ‘four candles’ ready for next week). The top three teams played an extraordinary game, with hilarious BALLS TO THE WALLS providing brilliant bantz and finishing in bronze place with 40 points. WHAT DAY IS INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY, were way out in front at the end of the first round, leading me to believe that a team might finally beat TEAM INEBRIATED. But, with red hot answers to some niche questions, our reigning champions absolutely nailed the second round (‘Chavril' and Patricia Arquette really sealed the deal), and TEAM INEBRIATED were victorious once again! Hard luck to Katie and the rest of WHAT DAY IS INTERNATIONAL MEN'S DAY - you played a great game, and we hope to see you again next International Men's Day (and I’ve just checked the calendar - I think you’re safe to turn up next week and every week thereafter . . . ). Massive congratulations to Kristian, Dave, Mark and Matt of TEAM INEBRIATED. You’re absolutely fabulous. And finally big thanks to Johnny and Tahlia behind the bar who were are a constant beacon of joy.
(Shout out to all the teams who knew what the bottom layer of Rachel's trifle was. And another shout of to THE MORGANS, TEAM HALF and BALLS TO THE WALLS for being so delightfully crude on question 36 and winning some delicious spicy crackers for their efforts).
