Large Crowd Brings Out the Smarts

It was another warm night in Hither Green, but the quizzers came out in droves to test their wits at the weekly pub quiz. We had both newcomers and veterans spread across 14 teams, and it was a very close game at the end of the first half. But by the end, it was "Les Quizerables" who pulled away and scored that top prize thanks to their expert knowledge of tube stations and American television. At the other end of the points spectrum, we had our one-man team "Only the Lonely" compete against "Dr Winston O'Boogie" (his Rainbow Children had left him) in a tiebreaker for the second-to-last place prize of a bottle of wine, with Dr Winston claiming the cabernet. Commiserations go to "Teama Turner", who lost the top spot by just one point, which is now the second time they've achieved that! They didn't seem very pleased at their repeat performance, but let's hope that the third time will be a charm, and that next week they can come back and claim victory!
