They were "Short of Cash" when they arrived, but not when they left!

Rant start - What is it with the youngsters of today in not carrying any cash! They're just like my kids, although I'm pretty sure they have an ulterior motive! Surely they should carry a few quid in their pockets in case of an emergency - Rant over. That said, the lady member of the appropriately named "Short of Cash" used her initiative to raise the entry fees for her team to enter the quiz by buying patrons of the Jolly Farmer drinks on her card at a discounted rate in return for cash and dare I say it was well worth while. Neither the £40 first prize and the £20 second prize (for coming second last) were however clear cut as both prizes required a tiebreaker to determine their destiny. "Amazing Mays" prevailed by the narrowest of margins for the £20 bar voucher second prize and "Short of Cash" prevailed over "Barry's Beauties" for the £40 bar voucher first prize, but still no cash".

With nine of the ten Jackpot envelopes still remaining it was generally felt there was little chance of the of the £38.50 Jackpot cash prize being won this evening , but all teams nevertheless played for it. The aforementioned and appropriately named "Short of Cash" won the opportunity to select from the envelopes. With all round interest steadily waning, the most vocal (euphemism for the Franz Listz Airport - see question 26) member of the team took responsibility for selecting envelope number 7 and low and behold, the card inside the enveloped revealed them to have WON THE JACKPOT - let's hope they keep some back for their entry next week, oh, and for any emergency that may happen between now and then.

We do it all again next Tuesday 21st January, same place, same time.
