"PAT'S PALS" WERE THERE, BUT ONCE AGAIN WHERE'S PAT?

Where's Pat is becoming a new game at The Jolly Farmer aka Where's Wally. "Pat's Pals" turn up regularly in good numbers but Pat never seems to be part of the team !?!? Perhaps she's giving Janine or Phil a good talking to in the café! The mysteries of teams names ay. Some are very appropriate, however. The "Despardos" for example who were pretty desperate this evening coming last, and the "Dysfunctionals" who came second last, but were perhaps not so dysfunctional as they accordingly picked up the £20 bar voucher second prize. This week's winners of the £40 bar voucher first prize had, I suspect a bit more of an in-game, "Creeby's Crawlies" and they won again by a very clear five-point margin - we're all looking forward to our Christmas drink!

We had guests this evening from the North, imaginatively named "The Northerners" - I didn't say that to their face mind you -, Burton on Trent to be precise and as well as coming second in the quiz and having won the Jackpot question they drew from the five remaining Jackpot envelopes for the £109 cash prize. Having spotted the word congratulations in slowly extracting the card from the envelope there was excited expectancy and opening out the card fully did reveal them as winners.......... but of a bag of peanuts! So, the Jackpot cash prize increases to £130 and rolls over to next week's Quiz Night at the Jolly Farmer: Tuesday 6th November; 7 pm for a 7.30pm start - you've got to be in it to win it!
