"And The Winner Is..." Came Second!

There's nothing like a bit of confidence when it comes to team names, but like my ma used to say, 'pride before a fall'! Fair play to "And the Winner is..." as they did at least come second, but it has to said they were six points off "Quiz me in Half" who were therefore again recipients of the this week's £40 bar voucher. Although "O'De A" received the £20 bar voucher prize for coming second last, following an audit of the answer sheets by one of the City's top accounting firms, it transpires there was an error in the quiz masters summary sheet and the prize should have gone to "The Au Pairs"! A high level postmortem has been performed (the participants relieved to have a break from Brexit negotiations) with the outcome that "O'De A" should retain their prize and we'll make it up to "The Au Pairs" next time we next see them - Gordon at the bar said rather excitedly that he couldn't wait!
At least "The Au Pairs" won the opportunity to draw from the seven remaining Jackpot envelopes for the £84.50 cash prize, but in selecting envelope number 7 they didn't have any luck with that either - C'est la vie. So, the Jackpot increases to £109 and rolls over to next week's Quiz Night when we do it all again at The Jolly Farmer: Tuesday 30th October; 7pm for a 7.30pm start!
