Divide and Conquer!

In spite of the snow, five teams were brave enough to venture all the way to The Jam Tree in Clapham to quiz with us this evening, and what an exciting match it was! One group of six decided to split forces and become two separate teams so the competition was pretty intense. I don't know about contempt, but in this instance, familiarity definitely seems to breed incentive because these team's knowledge of their opponents seemed to act as some kind of driving force, spurring them on, capitalising on their own strengths, and anticipating the weaknesses of the opposition. Whatever was causing it, these teams remained a point apart to the very last.

In the end, two teams tied in second place - "Snowmen" and "The Scrotes" (the latter being part of the original 6-person team), and were beaten by a single point by their original quiz mates "Dud's Girlfriend" who scored an impressive 30 points! But happily, the teams reunited to share the prize of the highly coveted £50.00 bar tab. Please join us again next week for another exciting quiz, when hopefully it will be a bit warmer. But if not, come anyway, because it gets ever so cosy when the questions startup and the steam begins to rise from the pens frantically jotting down answers.
