The last remnants of Christmas and New Year's were blown away at the Hollybush this evening, our fifteen fighting fit teams sticking to their mental training regime of top quizzing! Everybody started strongly and there was no flagging to be seen... unless you were talking nations flags! Our teams knowing that Cyprus and Kosovo both have flags that feature the shapes of their country on them. If cardio wasn't your thing, maybe lifting the metal would be... if you meant lifting an Oscar, both winners Peter Finch and Heath Ledger winning posthumously. Finally, the spirit of fair play was alive and well with nothing below the belt... identical to Roman-Greco wrestling, a fact which only our most stamina rich teams knew! Pack it Pat scored 40 points, just clinching it with a tie breaker, winning the £50 bar tab for the very first time after coming second and third previously! The Small Fries enjoyed success with a bottle of wine, scoring 23 points but the Jackpot climbs to £66.00 next week. I think we need a warm down after all that!
