No Packing it in for Pack it Pat!

This Sunday marked International Women’s day and sisters were doing it for themselves! It is perhaps no surprise that many of our top quizzers are either teams with a good mix of males and females or, dare I say it, exclusively women. Kicking off our plethora of questions, most of our lot were ‘on song’ when it came to naming the other half of the duet, including Kenny Rogers, who sang Islands in the Stream. It was, of course, country and pop legend Dolly Parton. ‘They call me Hell, They call me Stacey, They call me her, They call me Jane’- all ways that women have been addressed throughout history, no doubt, but never correctly to the band The Ting Tings, who used these lyrics in their song ‘That’s Not My Name’. Finally, last week marked the end of the career of a Wimbledon winning athlete; our teams serving up mainly correct answers, stating that it was former Women’s World Tennis Number 1 Maria Sharapova, who retired on 26th February aged 32. Pack it Pat scored a very impressive 41 1/2 to win the £50 food and bar tab and Kirby Karens got the wine, scoring 21 1/2 points. The Jackpot of £147.00 was finally won by Quizee Rascals, proving that there’s literally something for everyone at our Quizzes! Due to the high turn out, next weeks Jackpot will already be a mouth watering £50.00...
