Trio Triumph In Tricky Tiebreak

It was generally a low-scoring affair at this evening’s quiz at The Hare and Billet, with only four out of eleven teams managing scores in the 30s (and only just).

After forty questions, three teams were tied at the top: The Hairy Billets, The Chris Palmer Trio, and the exotically named Under The Bull’s Arse each managed a total of 31 points. Pointless Rejects were a point behind on 30, and the next team back, The Crusty Jugglers managed 26 points.

So the top three went to a tiebreaker, and although every team was way off the mark with their numerical answers, mathematically The Chris Palmer Trio were closest to the truth, and took home the £50 bar tab first prize.

There was also a decider for the prize for second last, as both 2 x Question Mark and The Ginners scored 20 points. That went to a quickfire first-to-the-bell question, and in the end The Ginners’ representative was quickest and correct, winning their team a voucher for a consolatory bottle of wine.
