Slartibartfast Halt Tabascan Dominance

It came down to a tiebreaker this evening at The Hare and Billet for both ends of the table, with one question determining both the winners and the “second-lasters”. After 40 questions, Slartibartfast and The Tabasco Fiasco were tied at the top on 36 points (their nearest challengers being The Chris Palmer Trio on 34), and sharing last place on 20 points a piece were DuPont & DuPond and The Liddle Lees Have Got A Hat... and so both first and second-last prizes all came down to one “nearest-to” numerical puzzler: the length, in mins, of the film The Godfather. DuPont & DuPond were only six minutes away from the correct answer, and for that they took home a voucher for a bottle of wine. In the end, though, the big headline was that Slartibartfast managed to end the Fiasco’s mercurial winning streak at The H&B, being a mere 3 minutes away from the correct answer. Tonight, these Douglas Adams fans and loyal regulars were the ones to take home the £50 bar tab from their hard-earned victory, and proved that the Tabascans are not by any means invincible.
