A busy and lively quiz took place last night at The Eagle in London's Hoxton, with seventeen teams competing for a cash prize of £170.
Also on offer a couple of bonus drink prizes, one in each round. The first was won quickly but quizmaster Richard Linton had problems with the second because no one was able to work out how long all the Great Train Robbers had received in prison for their crime. Eventually, a lady won the bonus drink but although the nearest, her answer was still nearly 100 years out!
The winning team last night was R L F C, a team which had one of its members returning to her home Australia. She wasn't the only Australian going home, as a member of another team said her goodbyes and was flying home to Sydney early next week.
I believe that there are Question One Quizzes which take place in Australia so maybe the two folk who are going home will still be able to quiz.
