A busy quiz saw 15 teams intellectually wrestle for the £40 bar tab. Along the way, we learned a group of hyenas is called a cackle; India is the country with the most snakebite fatalities per year; and, Venus is the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Aphrodite.

At half-time , 13 teams were separated by just four points, with fierce competition for the top prize and for the second-from-bottom bottle of wine. By the end, "Sad Grads" impressed everyone by knowing what ''flammkuchen' is, in doing so they achieved their ambition of securing the wine, just ahead of "Steamed Hams" (who were very strong on a points per person basis). Another couple strong on a PPP basis, was "Magnificent Seven", who were almost on the podium despite their being only two of them.

The podium was a crowded place to be, however, with three teams in third ("Fact Hunt"; "The Ollicles and No Follicles" and "Chocolate Buttons") and two teams in second ("Fisherman's Friends" - who had been the bookies' favourite for the win - and "None Of Your F***ing Quizness" ). Ahead of them by one point finished "One Of Us Is A Cruciverbalist", who, in knowing that eating 'pesce martello' in Italy means eating shark, won the bar tab. Amazing stuff.

Not content with just the bottle of wine, "Sad Grads" put in a guess for the jackpot question on the height of the Wembley Stadium arch that was just one foot off the 435-feet right answer. Unbelievable scenes. However, the higher-or-lower cards betrayed them and the cash rolls over for next week. Over £200 cash needing to be won.
