A thriller of a quiz saw the team in first place at half-time slip to miss the final three-way tiebreaker (how high is the Shard? 309.6 metres) by one point. One of those teams in the tie-breaker changed their correct guess to one a lot further away. It truly was an emotional roller-coaster.

Along the way we learned: envy is the first of the deadly sins alphabetically; Michael Jordan is known as "His Airness"; and, 'Mountain Dew' is a euphemism for moonshine. One question gave rise to the rather philosophical debate over how many testicles is too many. But, we discovered, ‘polyorchidism’ is a term for the abnormality where men have more than two testicles. So it felt like we did reach an answer. Three. Having three balls is too many.

By the end, "No Cause For A Llama Tie" just missed the second-from-bottom wine but won a prize for their points-per-person score and their team name. Just ahead of them, "Parr Snip" earned the wine, proving very proficient on the cryptic Hollywood stars names.

"Peggers Anonymous" won bronze, just two points off first place. Just one point more were "It's Nedra's Birthday Tomorrow", who begrudgingly promised us a Colin the Caterpillar cake next week (hooray!) and "Quizlamic State", who had a blitzing first half. One point beyond them came three teams: "Welcome To Pleasure Town", "Joe's Hoes" and "Backstop's back...alright!", each having to guess how high the Shard is. "Backstop's back...alright!" were nearly spot on so the £40 bar tab was theirs. Unbelievable scenes.

As if that wasn't enough, the £209 jackpot was also up-for-grabs and, fresh from winning the tie-breaker, it was "Backstop's back...alright!" who got closest to my question on the number of cities in England (51). Not only that but they only went and chose the correct envelope! The cold. hard. cash. was theirs. Impressive stuff. Still, the jackpot returns next week, with nearly £50 at stake.
