13 Sleeps Until Christmas But Only 7 Sleeps Until The Next Quiz!

Charles C

The chill outside made the warm ambience of last night's quiz even more toasty. Thankfully not as hot as the grilling Theresa May was having at the same time! Still, heat was applied to our quizzers by way of questions on the mankini (not to be confused with the sidekini - don't Google it), Sleeping Beauty and St Bernard dogs. At the end, "12 Days of Quizmas" (excellent football knowledge but foxed by the tube stations question) just missed the bottle of wine, which went to "Gin-Gle Bells" (incredible insight into Nigella Lawson's private life). "A Christmas Star Is Born" got full marks for the lyrics, earning 4th, while "Where's EZRA? Where's Ezra?" - with superb country flag and Kate Moss expertise - took bronze. A tie-breaker (a question on the record number of carol singers in one place - 25,272!) saw "EFRA & Friends" (strong doggo-film knowledge) win the bar tab, just ahead of "Remains Of The May" (a truly brilliant name). Ezra's team won through to the jackpot round, with the closest guess to the world record number of lights on a Christmas tree (a whopping 194,672), but it remained un-won. Nearly £180 up for grabs next week. Yes, it's cold outside but not as icy as the cold hard cash available at the quiz. Ho-ho-how about coming and winning it?!
