Jackpot passes £500 after first quiz of the decade

You'll be able to say "I was there" for The Devonshire's very first quiz of the 2020s. There was none of this "new year, new me" thing, just the same old ripper of a fact hunt on Balham's most comfy pub. We were full to the rafters again with plenty of last minute walk-ins expecting a seat at what I think must be one of South London's favourite trivia nights. It always pays to book ahead but we STILL haven't turned anyone away.

It was business as usual for Sounds of Fatness who took the wine after a tiebreak but it was newcomers on the quizzing circuit, Honey Badgers, whose varied knowledge and diverse team grabbed victory by a two point margin.

Meanwhile, Tony's Gals nearly went carried on with a new year treat of a massive jackpot but alas, they leave five cards uncovered on the board, one of which is the Queen. And it's the Queen you must find if you want to unlock that magical jackpot which now stands at £572. This week, Carry On film knowledge gave them the privilege of having a go but next week it could be anything. I suggest you brush up on your 'closest-to' prowess to give yourself the best chance of cheering up your January blues.
