A topsy turvy, nervy encounter but in the end, it was so close but too far

The giant jackpot went unwon this week again, meaning it now stands at a gigantic, enormous, titanic, megalithic £667. I for one have never seen it this high since Istanbul in AD69, so it should be a cracker for next week.

What did we learn from tonight's events? Well, it turns out even if you come last in the main quiz (I'm talking about you, Don't Know So Far), if you've got knowledge on David Attenborough and Scottish politics, you have the opportunity to play for the dough. We also learnt they deserved their spot in the hotseat for the big prize, as they had to fight through two closest-to tiebreakers. Lastly, there are now only three cards left on the board, meaning if you get into that hotseat, you'll have one in three chance of bagging the moolah. Quids in!

In other news, the winning team sacked one their chapter mid quiz after he cost them a point in fines but contributed nothing to their push for victory. It seemed a bit harsh but in the end it paid off as they made up for his fine by getting the cryptic US states in the quickest time. In the end, they won by three points so it didn't spoil their great showing in claiming the £50 bar tab — well played them, on their debut. We'd love to see you back.

Honourable mention goes out to the highest team of two, Crarah, who smashed 33 points on only their second date. They looked like a close-knit team who's been a part of each other's lives for years but it turns out they've barely known each other for a week. This isn't the first time we've seen couples on dates performing well, so I recommend it, if you're looking for a place to bring your Tinder or Grindr date.

It was great to be back in my second home in sunny South London and see all your smiling faces once more. Looking forward to seeing you all again next week at 8. Oh, did I mention, there's £667 to be won?
