Pronunciation Problems!

I'm not French. If I was I would probably speak the French language better than I do, which would not be difficult as my accent is awful. Last night at The Devonshire Arms in Kensington at the regular Monday evening quiz, a translation question was posed - what is the meaning of the French words "Le Printemps"? Le is the definite article but it took several attempts and the spelling of the word, to convince several team members that the word was French and a word of which some people may have heard!
In the end all three teams managed to write down the correct answer but after that several more words including "Mukluks" were questioned and had to be repeated and eventually spelt before any of the quizzers would even attempt a guess at the word's meaning.
Next week we may have some questions in English - why not come along and find out??
