Winning Quizzers Pull Out All The Stops

The Bohemia was packed this cold winter’s evening, with 18 teams and 62 players vying for the mantle of champions. In the end after 40 fiendish questions, two teams were tied at the top of the heap. After regulation play, Pull Out Before You Quiz and HS-Poo were tied first on 34 points apiece. Their closest challengers, regulars to this boozy parish Katatonia and Odd & Sodd, were only a point back on 33, and Winterval and David & The Boys were next highest on 31 points each.

So it was that this evening’s contest went to a numerical tiebreaker question: the world record in hours for a human being to stay awake. In the end, while HS-Poo gave it their best shot, Pull Out Before You Quiz were almost bang on the money with 264 hours, astoundingly only 24 mins off the correct answer. For this brilliant display, POBYQ took home a much deserved first prize of a £50 bar tab.

The honour that is understandably much coveted in these parts, that of coming second last, went to We Only Came For The Tacos. They took home a bottle of red wine for managing to put together a grand total of 21 points.
