There were first-time champions at The Bohemia pub quiz this evening, and even a two point handicap for having two too many friends couldn’t stop them. Eight-person quizzing machine Macarena & Cheese roared to the top of the final table and took home the £50 bar tab top prize with 37 points. They were only a point ahead of nearest challengers Oliver’s Revenge (36), and half-time leaders Comfortably Average ended up in 3rd (as one of their team members predicted!) on 35 points. There was a battle for the much prized mantle of second last, with Southern Belles and Absolute Beginners inseparable on 23 points apiece, one above the foot of the table. However, after a quickfire tiebreaker it was Absolute Beginners who were fastest on the draw and they took home the consolation prize of a bottle of wine.
