Quizzing: A Theory On Chaos

Graeme W

There is arguably a fair amount of political chaos besetting the country at the moment. Some, like the philosopher Leo Strauss, might argue that plunging the masses into chaos can be constructive and, applied correctly, such chaos can bring great gains in the long run. Now this may be an unconventional take on his thinking, but I’m pretty sure that, rather than neo-conservatism or the elites using chaos to bring order and power back to the West, Strauss was essentially referring to pub quizzes. Possibly.

In this sense, tonight’s quiz at The Bohemia fulfilled Leo Strauss’s philosophy without a lick of cultural or social damage, as "Coalition Of Chaos" regained power and soared to a strong and stable victory, taking the £50 bar tab first prize with a tremendous 40 points.

Two points back were "Sweet Poo-Tato Fries" on 38, and "Oliver’s Revenge" was third on 35 points. In second last, and taking home a bottle of white wine for their troubles, were "Nice To Meet You" on a still very respectable score of 28 points.
