Entente: A friendly understanding between quiz teams . . .

What an evening of bantz, LOLs and absolute carnage tonight at Beer Hawk. Lovely to see some new teams come along to battle it out for the coveted £50 bar tab - and battle they did! At halftime, it was nail bitingly close, with three out of four teams finishing the first round in joint first place, meaning it was all to play for in a very hot and spicy second round.
In the end, Amy and the rest of the DINKY DOGS were JUST pipped to the second-to-last bottle of wine by their (former) friends and colleagues, QUIZTEAMA AGUILERA: SMASH THE PATRIARCHY [FABIAN DOESN'T KNOW HOW HE FEELS ABOUT THIS]. And new team, HOP, SKIP AND TRUMP ended in a very respectable second place, just losing out on the top spot to Beer Hawk regulars, TEAM 1, who not only secured the £50 bar tab, but also won the coveted 'spicy crackers for rudest answer' (very impressive work guys). Massive congratulations to Adam, Mara and the rest of TEAM 1, whose win tonight marks their third victory at Beer Hawk.
Three key takeaways from tonight's quiz:

1. Whale vomit is known as Ambergris. It's very, very expensive and Seb from HOP, SKIP AND TRUMP is very, very knowledgable about it (it's very, VERY impressive, but he MUST remember to write it in the correct box next time . . .)
2. As Olivia from QUIZTEAMA AGUILERA: SMASH THE PATRIARCHY suggests, if you want to incentivise someone, you can always 'dangle them an aubergine . . .'
3. French is a complex and nuanced language. Far more complex and nuanced than I could have ever imagined. And I hope that, in the end, all teams achieved détente . . .
