A relatively quiet night at The Station Hotel, with 'only' 32 players. Still, our twelve teams competed fiercely for those prizes! In Olympic Sports, it is shown that bronze medalist are often happier than silver medalists, as silver views itself as "so close to gold", while bronze winners are just happy to have made it on the podium. I wonder if that's the same with quizzing? Our second placers seemed mighty disappointed when their name was called out, anyway! Luckily we managed to soothe their bitter disappointment quickly when they got to play the Jackpot game! Unfortunately it wasn't won, but that just means a bigger prize next time!
