You might think that quizzing just requires a good memory for unconnected facts and to an extent that is true, but there is more.
Sometimes a question can have several answers depending on the creativity of the various teams competing in the quiz. One of the questions at The Spice of Life during last night's regular Tuesday evening quiz, was to work out the phrase from a picture. Now the answer was "checks and balances" but two alternative answers were suggested. The first was "balances and checks", not very creative but slightly different from the correct answer, the second alternative was "on balance all correct". Neither of these "different" answers was accepted but it demonstrates the fact that the main thing needed to be a succesful quiz player is an agile brain!
