How can we quiz at a time like this?

How can we have woken in a world whose idealistic foundations have been shaken to the core of democracy fulfilled and still wish to pit our wits against other humans and red wine? There are surely more burning questions than what is the capital of Laos? More crucial matters to be debated than the difference between a puffin and a pelican?

And yet, safely stowed away in SW6, we did just that. Closeted from the alarm by pizza and pints. We privileged quizzers.
