'They Were Robbed!!'

If there is one thing about me that stands out it is my impartiality. I'm saying this without any joking now.
When I am in the field (pub) I am the same as a referee at a high level football match, making split second decisions every three seconds or less.
But when I am on here in this blog... post match as it were, I can say exactly what I do or do not think.
I really can't empathise what a roller coaster hard fought game it was tonight.
"John & Tonic" really took some body blows in the first half. It looked very pessimistic for them and expectations were not high...
Meanwhile "Quizzy Rascal" were four points ahead looking unstoppable... Then Oh My God... "John & Tonic" win it by one point... Then oh, oh... Someone who was suffering from alcoholic poisoning had marked "Quizzy Rascal" down... Recount... Tiebreaker.... It's gone it's all over gone - snap. Just like that.
"Quizzy Rascal" were out the door. I think I saw one of them laughing or smiling which seemed a bit tactless or thoughtless under the circumstances, seeing as they'd won.
Now I'll say this about "John & Tonic". I've known Gavin since he was in shorts (the summer) and a T. Shirt. Seb was wearing them too I think because it was a really hot summer. (either that or I'm thinking of someone else).
But "John & Tonic" are real high rollers at The Ram and they know how to play very high stakes (£2 per person) and I'm reminded of something that George Washington or someone else said when he lost his wife.
He said 'When we lose someone or a quiz, we think it is the end but it's not the end it's just a beginning. After the sadness comes the greatness because only when we have stood in the deepest valley do we know how great it is to stand on the highest hill'.
I wish everyone a very happy Christmas and New year and the answer to the question 'What happened to Dick Turpins victims?' is 'They were robbed'..
