As the Chinese New Year swings around once more, a packed quiz-floor of questing minds filled the Railway once again. Many and varied were the teams this week, but regular faces And in 1st place! and Rolf Harris's parole officer, were back to assert their authority, or preferably, blag a free bottle of wine.
Some great quiz names this week, with Brexit featuring like an impending shadow from the future. Welcome to lots of new teams this week - Ab fags, No-eyed deer and 51 days to go, all seasoned quizzers by the look of it and certainly made their mark on the results.
In the end though, there was only one winner, 2 points clear at the top and taking home the £25.00 bar credit were Special Place in Hell!, so well done to them, while the wine of shame was won with a tie-break between Victorious Secret and Quizzy Elliot, with Victorious Secret just quicker to the answer.
The rollover jackpot this week was £180.00, and the question was, how many detective novels has Agatha Christie written? The varied guesses, from 13 to 800 (?!?) showed nobody had a clue, but slightly less clueless than the rest were Special Place in Hell! but unfortunately, the 8 envelopes proved too much and the jackpot once again survived to hit the magic £200.00!
