Record numbers at The Pilgrim! We've had, wait for it, TWENTY SIX TEAMS in the house, comprised of ONE HUNDRED AND THREE PEOPLE! It was completely amazing: everybody played incredibly well, scores were high and close, friendly rivalry ruled the day. While Lesleys, ostensibly out for a birthday party, casually won the quiz with 42 points, there were two runner-up teams with 41 points each: Crushed Velvet Slags and Red Face Josh. Last week's winners, Best Of Three, also did a good job with 38 points after the -1 winner handicap. I want to give special props to Red Face Josh, as they answered the jackpot question dead-on correctly and their representative, Sam, lost the £146 jackpot by a SINGLE card! They were so incredibly close, and we were all rooting for them!

On the other end of the scale, Quizabeth scored 25 points and won a bottle of well-deserved rosé. They also deserve special thanks, as along with their sister team, Let's Beat Liz, Quiz, they helped me read all the answers for the jackpot and run Play Your Card Right. The jackpot unfortunately rolls over to the next week (sorry, Sam!) and £249, £1 shy of our £250 cap, will await a lucky team of quizers next week - maybe it could be you?
