Caveat Emptor And Total Eclipse Of The Heart Singalong!
Rita S
What a quiz, what a quiz we had! We learnt that caveat emptor means "buyers beware" - still a very appropriate sentiment, despite the passage of time! - and we have had the winners, Agatha Quizteam, who scored 42 points, play for the jackpot! The excitement was extremely high, and they lost the £200 by just one card. The aptly named We Want The Wine got the wine, proving that dreams indeed come true - and the entire pub united in the singalong of Total Eclipse of the Heart. As a quizmaster, I had an unexpected recount of points by team Czech Mate and I just sang the same song in Polish, as I never miss an opportunity to speak my language in front of Brits! I am pleased to say that Czech Mate had 37, not 36 points, which did not affect the final scoring, but was still important. Our Lone Rider Jon scored 30 points all by himself, someone recruit that man to a team! Finally, best team name award goes to Prince Philip's Driving School, for reasons obvious to those who don't live under a rock. £200 in cash awaits in the jackpot - see you next week!
