A tale of North Americans and a pub full of babes

Some wise words of advice. Never call someone from Canada an American — they really don't like it. But they weren't the only ones from across the pond in the pub tonight. Despite the complaints of not knowing who Cheryl Tweedy is or what Eggheads was, there were a lot of American questions in the quiz this evening so both teams did okay.

The only other foreigners in the place were from across a smaller pond called the Irish Sea. There were some Irish questions in there and that helped them to second place. Well done, them.

Previous winners, The Nightingales, who, funnily enough, had two members of their team who've appeared on Eggheads (one of the players schooling the odd one who was up for murder charges once), galloped to victory with two strong rounds and they didn't much help from me.

It was a knowledgable bunch in there tonight and hopefully they will be back with an increased jackpot in the £500s and with Victoria restored as host next week.
