A nearly full house at the Moretown Belle tonight, well over 30 quizzers filling all the tables but 2 in a quiz that leaned toward the geographic, the linguistic and the divine. Geographic with questions on Brunei, Ireland and Stoke-on-Trent; linguistic with questions on Arabic, Hebrew and French; divine with questions on Apollo and a certain "Domestic Goddess". In the end Snow Hag and her Friends won the bar tab by a narrow margin, while the sole remaining member of Zoop took home a bottle of red (but definitely not Shiraz) to...share with her team? Maybe. Who knows. Any jackpot money went unclaimed, sadly, when Team Flying Ship stumbled on only the third card of Higher/Lower. Hate it when that happens. On the upside, next week the jackpot rises well clear of £100! Until then, be kind and play safe.
