Fortune Favours the Brave

This evening we were delighted that four brave teams made it out to The Jam Tree to join us for another Sunday quiz in the cosy Bookcase Bar, in spite of the wind and the rain (not to mention the snow!). And in view of what they'd had to face journeying through the gruesome weather conditions to get to us, perhaps it is no wonder that the spirit of determination seemed particularly apparent among tonight's stoic contenders.

And my goodness it was a close call tonight! With 1 brand new team and 3 returning teams, 2 of which have won multiple quizzes in previous weeks, all bets were on as to who would swipe the £50.00 bar tab. And at half time it was STILL impossible to call! The wittily named "Agatha Quiz Team" led with 15 points, hotly pursued by newcomers "King Kiwi" on 14. However, by the end of the final round "Sean's Tumble" (formerly known as "Better Late Than Pregnant" and winners of the last 2 weeks) had shot ahead into second place scoring 28.5, but just missed holding onto their status as reigning champions, being beaten by "Agatha Quiz Team", who scored a whopping 34.5!

An amazing display of bravery and brain power. Thank you so much for trekking out this evening! We felt very honoured to have so many of you there. Do join us again next week when hopefully conditions will have become ever so slightly less treacherous!! :)
