"Team Corned Beef" Are The Dish Of Roast Dinner Day!

Did you know Wednesday was National Roast Dinner Day? Neither did this host, till Simon Mayo let it slip on the drive to The Hare & Billet. "I Like Stuffing!" became our qualifying cry for the welcome Free Drink questions and, fittingly, "Team Corned Beef" on 36 points romped home with the coveted Bar Tab. OK - so it was Corned rather than Roast, and the lead was just one point. But beef is beef, and a win is a win! Equally skilled quizzers "MTSF" and "Slartibartfast" battled it to the finish, but were left with noses pressed to the glass while the Beefers scoffed their fill. The wine was duelled for by "The Sugarbabes" and "Folk Of The Fevertree", with the latter triumphing, and Room 101 ended up chock-full of deserving irritants. The convivial atmosphere played down the suffering host's coughs and sneezes... almost!
